As I read through everyone's blogs this afternoon I wish I had fun 4th of July news to share of parades, picnics, or fireworks. However our 4th of July this year was VERY low key! Alyse traveled up north with Grandma Peg and Aunt Julie to spend time with the cousins and for Tanner's Baptism (which by the way we are so PROUD of you Tanner Bug and wish more than anything that we had been there! CONGRATS!), Ethan's Blessing, and Uncle David's graduation party! I am hoping to get some pics from Amy and then I will post them. Russ and I stayed in St. George. I know it was really difficult for Russ, he is really close to Tanner and had really hoped to be there and support him on such a special day. Also his little brother Josh flew in from Oregon- it is so rare that all 3 boys are together and it killed Russ to not be with them! But with a 4 day old baby it just wasn't feasible to make the trip! Instead our Friday was spent taking little Thatch for yet another jaundice test (we did our last one today his levels are finally going down!) then we stopped at the store I waited in the car with Thatcher while Russ ran in and got steaks, chips, salad stuff, and popsicles. We went home and had our own little BBQ and took a nap. Later that night we watched a few minutes of fireworks on TV (it's just not the same) and wondered how our little Aly was doing and if she would actually sleep!?! I must admit it is still so hard on me to have her away and I worry constantly and hope she is having fun and minding her manners! It was nice having some one on one time with my little boy but I have just grown accustomed to my Aly during the day and life isn't the same without her in the house! She came back Sunday afternoon and I was so happy to have my little girl home! Thank You Julie, Grandma, and Amy for giving her baths, making sure she slept, picking up extra diapers ( I swear I counted them out and put them in the bag but who knows where they ended up!), suffering through her 'kids cd's' during the drive, and bringing her home safe! Next year I will be partying it up with the rest of you! But since I don't have pictures from this year here is a little flashback to last year's fourth! We were in Park City with my fam. and Aly was 10 months old! (how time flies!)
