Tomorrow, Tomorrow . . .

Yes it is true! We are scheduled to have this baby tomorrow! I never thought I would make to induction day, but I am ready to meet my son, so whatever it takes! It is kind of nice knowing that the waiting has come to an end (almost). I must say the waiting is my least favorite part of labor (well that and the excruciating pain) . . . the unknown when, how, where will I be when I do go into labor. When I was pregnant with Aly I was still teaching full time up until D-Day and I had constant nightmares about having my water break as my first graders were walking into the room in the morning or while I had my principal in there evaluating me (and of course with it being a dream it was like an ocean tidal wave and some of them were surfing while others were just trying to keep afloat). I remember feeling so desperate to have Al, I had made my sub plans and if I went past my due date I was going to have to make new plans for the additional days I would need to take off. I DID NOT want to fill out any more sub plans; so I tried everything spicy food, swings, walking around the block, I ate an entire pineapple (my mouth hurt for days - way acidic), castor oil (twice)! Yes I was a desperate woman! This time around I haven't put myself through all of the pain and agony and maybe that is why I am still here and pregnant. (If only I hadn't given my castor oil away!) I was so excited on Friday after my appointment because after my doctor stripped my membranes I started having contractions and I was sure this was the beginning - but by evening all had slowed down and now they are few and far between. So I wait and I need to see this as a glass half full opportunity: one more day means one more day to cuddle and kiss my Aly before I leave for the hospital, one more day to feel my baby move and wiggle in my tummy such an amazing thing, one more day to make sure all is ready, one more day to take a nap, one more day to try and decide on a name(naming this child has been more than difficult to say the least)! So I am going to enjoy my last day of pregnancy to its fullest and tomorrow we are going to meet our baby!
