Setting the Scene: Russ and I went out on a date night last Saturday to celebrate our 7 year anniversary (which is actually this Sunday but Russ has to work this weekend and life is crazy and we are having a baby any day and . . . it just worked out better)
So I am busy getting ready to go out on my HOT DATE and Aly is keeping me company in my bathroom as I do my hair and make-up. She climbs up to the bathroom window to check out her plants (which she planted back in November) to see how they are growing. She immediately notices that one of her flowers is dying and starting to wilt a bit (just past it's prime):
Alyse: Mommy my plants are getting old! Do plants get old?
Me: Yes, plants get old just like people and animals.

(very serious thinking face... long pause then)
Alyse: Does Noki get old?
Me: Yep. Somday he will get old and we will have to say goodbye to him so he can go and live with Heavenly Father.
Alyse: But I don't want Noki to live with Heavenly Father, I want him to live with us!
Me: Yep. Somday he will get old and we will have to say goodbye to him so he can go and live with Heavenly Father.
Alyse: But I don't want Noki to live with Heavenly Father, I want him to live with us!
(She then clasps her hands together and looks up into the 'heavens')
Alyse: Heavenly Father, please keep Noki in our family!
