We are loving our new baby sister... sometimes a little too much!
Alyse thinks she is marvelous and loves helping me get her dressed and pick out a bow for her hair... she thinks she is her little doll to play with, hold, and dress and seems to completely enjoy playing 'mommy' as she gets her her mimi or finds her a lovey. Thatcher finds her fascinating and spends most of the day pointing to and naming her body parts (I always get nervous when he gets to eyes)... he calls her 'my maggie' and wants to be able to see her or touch her all day long, he is rarely far from her and is usually showering her in kisses. So far all have adjusted quite well... we'll see how we are doing in a few weeks when the novelty wears off!
I am loving cuddling her and smelling her sweet baby skin. I am exhausted (not gonna lie) This poor girl has her days and nights seriously mixed up and is awake from 10:30pm-6:00 am with rarely more than 30 minutes of sleep mixed in. Then she sleeps all day... I mean all day I have to torture the poor girl to get her wake up and eat! Russ luckily has been home with me this week which has helped tremendously and allowed me some nap time as well as a little relief in the middle of the night... sadly he goes back to work on Saturday and I will be on my own... wish me luck!
For those who were wondering we are finally done with billi-tests and I can't say I am going to miss my daily drive into the hospital for Miss Maggie's lab work! Her jaundice is looking much better and for now we are in the clear!
Now I am off to cuddle my baby and maybe get her to WAKE UP! It looks like it is going to be another long night... can I just say I am incredibly thankful for DVR at least I have something to watch at 4 am!
