Pomp & Circumstance, Farm Animals, and Swimming Lessons

It has been such a busy weekend! We were grateful for the excuse to head north for David's Graduation from the U on Friday (congrats by the way we are so proud of you!) and the birth of Aly's newest cousin, Ethan (which I can't believe I didn't take a picture, but he is adorable!) We were lucky enough to be able to get work off and head north for the pomp and circumstance (which was never actually played by the way, although I am pretty sure I heard a version of a Beach Boys song). We went to Dave and Amy's and met their beautiful little boy who arrived Tuesday morning weighing just over 7 lbs. Here is a link to the graduation pictures:

Saturday we went with my family to IKEA and then to the petting zoo at Thanksgiving Point. Alyse was terrified of the animals at first and it took a lot of patience and slow exposure to get her comfortable but by the end she was begging for more pony rides (she went on 4 by the way) and LOVED feeding the goats!

Then today we had Aly's very FIRST swimming lesson! They spent the first 15-20 minutes talking to the kids about water safety . . . yada yada yada, these kids are little and truly didn't care or learn anything from the presentation and all Aly could do was pace back and forth and stand at the window and say "Wader, wader, wader, PLEEEASE!" She was so excited when we finally got in the pool and were able to swim!

Here are some videos of our little cutie before the lesson began . . . I think she was getting a lot out of the presentation, don't you?

Here are a few pictures, sorry they are so blurry, they didn't let guests (or in our case dads) get close in fear that they would distract the children. (Because back float and tummy float require focused attention!) So Russ had to take these pics from far away!

Mindy, that picture of Aly and your dad on/by the cow is my favorite. CLASSIC! I also love the pics with you and her in the pool. What a great mama!
