{ba ba}

The time has come... Thatcher is now 15 months (today in fact) and I have to start saying NO to the bottle! I really didn't think it would be a big deal.. in fact I thought that he wouldn't even notice the absence... I was wrong!
Yesterday I attempted to give him milk in a sippy cup... no biggie... he drinks water in a sippy... he steals sister's sippy all the time and happily drinks milk from that... what is the difference they are the SAME sippy cups...
So I began. He woke up from his nap and said, "ba ba" while signing 'milk'. So to the kitchen we went to get my boy some milk. I poured it into a sippy put on the lid and handed it over. He took a sip handed it back and kept saying "ba ba ba ba" while signing 'milk' and looking at me with this 'my crazy Mom just doesn't get it!' expression. I handed him his sippy and signed back 'milk' and said, "Here is your milk, your milk is in your cup." He took the cup and chucked it across the floor and then repeated, "BA BA BA BA!" signing 'milk' like his life depended on it!
So I am picking up the sippy and trying again....
Eventually he got frustrated with me and began to CRY big old crocodile tears rolling down his cute cheeks! I gave in... in my defense it was my birthday. So he had his "ba ba" and I realized that this may just be a bit more difficult than I anticipated. Wish me luck!

That's so hard! Good luck with that! Brielle had the hardest time giving up her binky so I remember those days.

Ethan just gave up the bottle overnight but he is now 19 months! I finally said, Ethan, this is your last bottle!! and I only give him his sippy. He still has a hard time with drinking milk out of the sippy, but will drink other fluids. I just couldn't get him off of his bottle until now. he really didn't notice they were gone, but I guess Ethan is a little older. I hope you are having a little more success.
