Color, Color, Color!

Alyse's favorite things right now is to color. Whether it be on the Magna Doodle, with her giant color pad and some crayons, the program at church and daddy's pen, her new chalkboard that she got for Easter, or out on the sidewalk with some chalk. This kid LOVES to color! She learned the word "chalk" in one day (if that tells you just how important this activity is). She got her new egg shaped chalk and her chalkboard from the Easter Bunny and by Monday morning as I was getting her up for the day she was pointing over by her dresser and saying "awk" Which I interpreted as "rock" and asked her if she wanted to rock in the glider. Oh was I wrong . . . she then with more effort and frustration pointed again and said, "awk! awk! AWK" and then looked at me rolled her eyes and said "uh-lor, awk, UH-LOR!" Well I do know that "uh-lor" is color so I finally put two and two together and got color, chalk oh I get it! (duh!) We got out he chalk and began to color! Whew! This week mommy finally got her chalkboard up on the wall so that she can uh-lor with awk as much as she wants! I only wish Russ' toys were so inexpensive and provided so much joy! Maybe I can convince him that chalk is more fun than ram, video cards, or whatever else it is he is hoping for for his computer. Maybe?
