Christmas Re-Cap

The kids and were LOVING the SNOW on Christmas Eve as we were driving to pick Daddy up from work! How exciting to get snow ON CHRISTMAS EVE in St. George. We returned home and opened up our Christmas PJ's and watched A Christmas Story on TV, classic :) We of course left cookies for Santa (and a slice of pizza, Aly insisted that he would want it) and some egg nog, she thought he would enjoy this more than milk :) It was so nice being together as a family. The next morning we slept in until 8:15, on Christmas day, rare and wonderful! Aly was so excited to see if Santa came and apparently she was a good girl because she squealed with delight when she saw the gifts that he had left! Thatch of course was pretty non-chalant about the whole experience and was content to chew on whatever he could fit into his mouth. When we finally moved onto the presents under the tree Aly was overwhelmed by the entire experience and after opening only a couple of presents she flopped down on the floor with a big sigh and said "I'm TIRED . . . . ahhh" and I had to help her open the rest. Good thing Grandma and Grandpa Thatcher didn't come until the next day because she wouldn't have made it through their big pile of gifts :)
That afternoon Grandma Peg and Aunt Julia came over for lunch. It was so fun having company for Christmas Day and Alyse was so excited to show off her Santa Gifts.

The next day my parents arrived, they braved the weather, and safely arrived on Friday afternoon. I couldn't believe the HUGE pile of presents that came in the door with them! There was a onsie at wal-mart that said "Who needs Santa I have Grandparents" and THAT is exactly what BOTH of my kids should have been wearing on Friday! Alyse got a trike, Wonder Pets boat with Lenny, Tuck, and Ming-Ming, The Carriage to go with her Princess Castle (that she got from Santa), and LOTS of lip gloss! They also brought with them presents from the Thatcher family party that we missed last weekend, art supplies and a coloring book for Al and a fun high chair toy for Thatch. Thatcher also got a table, a teething toy, and 258 diapers (thanks for that by the way!) The rest of the day was spent playing with all the toys! It was so fun watching Aly and my mom play princesses, dress-ups, bubbles, and wonderpets! What a fun grandma you are mom!
The next day we went out to lunch at Red Robin and to Jumpin' Jacks (this was Aly's first visit to Jumpin' Jacks and she was in HEAVEN! It took her a minute to soak it all in but by the end she was an expert!)
I love how my kids bring back the magic of Christmas, ahh to be young! Hope yours was just as Merry!
