I just didn't think it would be so soon! It is with sadness that I report the passing of the "dee-dah" era in our lives! Soon after Aly turned one we began teaching her to say "thank you" It took a few months but soon she would repeat, only instead of 'thank you' it came out "dee-dah" in such a cute, sweet little voice. Another month or two passed and soon all I had to say was "what do you say?" and she would reply, "dee-dah" Sometime in March or April I was thrilled when I began hearing her say "dee-dah" as soon as someone gave her something or helped her in someway. Of course her own special 'thank you' required translation but it was so uniquely hers that I didn't mind. In the past few weeks I have noticed instead of "dee-dah" I have been getting an occasional "tanks" in the mix. The appearance of this 'new' word made me realize that our "dee-dah" days were coming to a close. However this morning as I handed Aly her sippy cup filled with milk she looked up at me and said her very first "Tank You". I had to fight back tears as I replied, "your welcome". I love you my little Aly-bug! You are such a sweet and kind little munchkin and I hope you know just how special you are! You are growing up so quickly and I am so excited to see what you accomplish next!
