This is what I have been telling Alyse this week over and over. She stopped taking her "mimi" (aka: binky) in July. She just decided overnight she no longer needed it and that was that. I was so impressed with her ease into toddlerhood and her realization that she no longer needed her binky for comfort. It was all so easy and I must say I was a little proud of myself for being able to raise a child who didn't need such a trivial thing for her security. Well, last Sunday she changed her mind! I went to get her out of her crib Sunday morning and what do I find . . . my toddler with a mimi in her mouth! She had that binky in her mouth the entire day and has been sucking on it off and on all week (I honestly don't even know where she found a mimi they haven't been used in months!) So I guess big girls do need mimi's especially if they are about to be big sisters and are feeling a need to prove that they are still a baby! Whatever the reason I am now searching the house for all the mimi's I can find! I haven't decided yet if I am going to hide them or put them out where she will be able to easily find and use them? I am just hoping it is a short phase I really don't want to do the whole "binky fairy" routine. Only time will tell.
