Mommy's BIG helper!

I love Christmas this year! Alyse is finally old enough to be interested in all of the festive happenings of the season! Last week in Harmon's the two of us were waiting in line at the deli counter to get some roast beef and hanging from the ceiling was a Santa decoration. She kept saying "Oohh, ooh, ball, ball!" and I would say, "Yes that is Santa!" By the time we were leaving the deli she was really putting her best effort into saying "Santa" (it came out more like "ana" but I got the idea). She pulls out her best dance moves as we wander the stores with the accompaniment of favorite Christmas songs. When we go on walks at night she points to the lights and ooohs, ahhs, and squeals with excitement! I am so excited for her to unwrap presents this year and just be a part of the experience! She is also fascinated with the Christmas Tree! (Which we have had to put in the kitchen; both for my sanity and her safety.) As soon as the gate opens she makes a bee line for the tree. by the time I get there to stop her she is clutching ornaments in both hands, looking up at me with pleading eyes, desperate to keep them in her grasp. I have lost count of how many times I have decorated the bottom half of the tree this year. Everything holds a newness and excitement for her. I think that is my favorite part of being her mother, seeing that excitement, experienceing it again for the first time. Merry Christmas I hope yours is filled with as much wonder and awe as ours!
