{spring break}

Maggie Jane,*One Year Old*March 13, 2011*Monterey, CA

For spring break this year we headed to Monterey, CA.  We stayed at the Beach Resort and were lucky enough to wake up to the ocean every morning!  The resort sits right on the beach!  We spent lots of time watching the waves, digging in the sand, and swimming in the pool.  We visited the aquarium, the pier, Cannery Row, the children's museum, and went whale watching.  Mostly we just enjoyed being together!  My parents came too and believe me with 3 little kiddos running wild it was a good thing they did!  It was wild, there were tantrums (not gonna lie), but it was so FUN! and well I kinda wish I could do it again!  I am already ready for another vacation!

Our trip started SLOWLY with a stop at Big O to fix a tire and some time hanging out at the good old Abbey!

Then on to VEGAS for lunch and games at the Excaliber.

There was LOTS of time spent in the car.  Maggie was often out only passenger as her older siblings both wanted to spend LOTS of time with their grandparents!

We stopped for lunch and celebrated the BIRTHDAY GIRL!  Almost to the OCEAN!

Whale Watching.  Even after throwing up I would recommend it!  We got to see lots of dolphins and some whales!

The Monterey Aquarium is AMAZING!  We could have easily spent another day there!  They had so much for the kids to do and see!  I wish it was closer so I could take my entire kindergarten class back!  We get to study ocean animals in our Amazing Creatures unit, how perfect would that be?

Aly was in HEAVEN digging in the sand, as soon as the babies would go down for their naps she would start begging to go to the beach!

Even though it was a bit chilly we went for a swim!  Good thing the pool was heated!

We sent a morning at the Children's Museum.  Love.

I don't know why I didn't take more pictures of Cannery Row.  It was my favorite place by far!  It was picturesque!  quaint shops, old buildings, beautiful beaches.... Russ took the babies back for naps one afternoon and My Rents, Aly, and I hit Cannery Row for some sight seeing and shopping!  Alyse made her and Maggie each a bracelet in this adorable little bead shop. 

Well that's our trip in photos.  It was so fun!  My kids keep asking if we can go back to the ocean!  Thanks to my parents tagging along we were able to keep all three kiddos happy, safe, and entertained.  I got way too used to having someone make my bed, change my towels, and vacuum my floors though.  Reality was rough.  Although it is nice to not be trying to keep my 3 darlings quiet and in control at a restaurant! Only a few more weeks and it is SUMMER!  (not that I am counting down or anything)
