Valentines Day was redeemed... I thought it was a lost cause... truly. However the kids woke up ecstatic to see their valentines from Mommy and Daddy and immediately had suckers in their mouths and playdough out on the counter. My adorable kindergarten kids spoiled me yet again with treats, cards, and all manner of sweetness. Russ then surprised me with flowers, if you know Russ you know that this was a SURPRISE! In fact when my principal brought them into my classroom I laughed and said they must be from my parents because my husband doesn't send flowers! I love them! Then I headed to Peg's to pick up kids and rop off her valentine, she had made these adorable valentines for each of my kids! My fav was that she had helped Aly weave her very own all last week to give to me and Alyse was so excited to give me her masterpiece, "Just for you, well and Dad cause I only made one, can Dad share it too?" (love her!)
After we got home Aly ran her special valentine over to Sandy... this was her first time ever going to Sandy's all alone. I waited at the end of our walk way... she was so proud of herself! When she got back we made dinner, Cheese Ravioli, Coconut Shrimp, Strawberry and Almond Green Salad, and Strawberry Daquaris. The kids hated it... haha! They asked for peanut butter sandwiches... nice. Russ was thrilled when he got home from work though and that made it all worth the effort. So... we may be sick, have runny noses, and nasty coughs but that didn't keep us from having one great Day!
I must admit I do love Valentine's Day! Who can hate a day to tell the important people in your life that you love them? So if I didn't have a chance to tell you... Happy Valentine's Day!
