{jesus wants me for a sunbeam}

Alyse is a SUNBEAM! She was so very excited to be going in with all the big kids and was thrilled to have 'her Summer' by her side. I have been telling her for a month that she needed to be out of pull-ups if she wanted to go to Sunbeams (since she needed to be a big girl to go to the big primary) and so the beginning of December she put on underwear one day and has been completely potty trained since! Thank you to everyone who told me to be patient and wait until she was ready (I am now a believer) she has done so well, even at night... we have yet to have an accident at night and have only had a couple during the day (mostly when we are away from home and can't get to the potty quick enough). It seems like she has grown up overnight using the potty, asking for play-dates, dressing herself (which can be quite humorous at times-she has a real sense for fashion)... I was a little sad as I watched my big girl walking hand in hand with Summer into the primary room. When we got home that afternoon she sang me her favorite primary songs and talked about what she learned. She and Summer were the only 2 Sunbeams in her class this week (the other 3 kids were out of town) and she thought it was marvelous to have a class just for the two of them! Thatcher is now officially in nursery (although he has gone for the last 3 weeks so he could adjust while big sister was still there) and I feel a little lost without a child to attend to during my meetings. I didn't get used to it however since they brought Thatch to me part way through Relief Society (the new time change is killer on his schedule, right during nap time, and he was tired and fussy) and with only 9 weeks until Goober Girl makes her debut I will quickly be resuming my duties of childcare during church (wouldn't want to get used to being uplifted and inspired... I might start to miss it while running after children and calming fussy infants... better to not know what I am missing right).

Mindy, I had to laugh at the end of your post. I was in the same boat you are. my babies were 2 years apart, so not much time to get to "drop off and be be done". Funny thing is now that Ellie is in sunbeams I still do not get a break because my calling is in nursery. So I fell ya' :o) hope things settle before Goobs comes. Hey I have been having a lot of fun making your bows I will have some pictures soon!!!

yeah for potty training! It is hard to ship your first born off to primary, but now you get to see her in the primary program... a big plus!
