{first haircut}

Aly and I had a 'girls day' today... I took her for her VERY FIRST haircut. Yes I realize that my daughter is 3 and it may be a tad late for the first haircut experience (especially since Thatch has already had a trim or two, despite the fact that he is nearly bald and grows only wisps of blond fuzz). As you can see from Alyse's face in our first pic she was a bit scared! She was so nervous in fact that she had to sit on my lap before she would let Delores (the sweet lady who cut Aly's hair) any where near her, Delores was GREAT by the way and by the end Alyse was ALL SMILES and she and Delores were great friends!

Here are the two of us after the hair cut was complete. She was so proud of herself and told Delores she could cut her hair anytime! In fact tonight after her bath she asked when we would go back for another haircut... this could become expensive.

After her haircut Delores painted Aly's nails (which is one of Al's favorite things EV-AH!) Let's just say she didn't need me or my lap for this part ;)

Aly chose a lovely shade of periwinkle and sat so very still so that her nails would be JUST PERFECT! I loved the way she just chatted away with Delores telling her all about her little brother, her Noki cat, her favorite toys at home, and what she likes best about trips to the park.

When we were all done the two of us went to Golden Spoon for a special girls day treat and had fun talking and eating our frozen yogurt. How fun to have my little girl growing up and so excited to spend an afternoon with her Mommy.

Mindy, It was a great story, and the end reminded me of our trips to the bakery on Saturday mornings!
