{confessions}

I was blog browsing last night waiting for Russ to come home from work and I was blown away at all the perfect, crafty, creative, amazing, mothers and professionals out there who seem to have it all together. I don't know if you are like me and after reading blog after blog of all these perfect women I want to bury my head under my pillow because I will never be able to live up or I begin to feel stress and pressure at the thought of all that I'm not doing and should be. Those were my initial reactions and then I realized I can only be me, I am who I am... a wife, a mother, a teacher... and I am FAR from perfect so here are my latest confessions:

1. I don't 'do' Aly's hair every day... I often let her comb it all by herself and only really do it if we are going out of the house.
2. I would rather take a nap than clean my house, ALWAYS.
3. I am only just learning to cook, out of necessity, and am still trying to get a grasp on the whole menu and shopping thing... it overwhelms me.
4. Unless my kids complain about their diaper (or pull-up in Aly's situation) being wet, I don't change it-poop however is a different story.
5. I don't get the sheets changed every week... don't tell my mother.
6. I will on occasion let my kids eat dessert first and then dinner.
7. I allow Aly to not eat what we are eating and make her oatmeal or PB and Honey instead... in other words I encourage her picky-ness... a bit.
8. I am a pushover and give in often, despite my early childhood background and knowing better.
9. I let Aly sleep in our bed when she has a bad dream.
10. I try to organize my life but fail... I will try again don't doubt but I have yet to find the 'schedule' that truly works for me... I like to be open to a park trip whenever the mood strikes! Laundry and dishes will wait until later, right?

See there are some of us out there who are less than perfect, far less... hope it made you feel better :)

You are an amazing mother and woman! You are also an amazing teacher! You are helping so many children and from a mother who's child you influenced, I would like to say THANK YOU!
I can so relate to your feelings and I like how you put them into perspective! I loved you list!
