Winter arrived, at least our version of it, which I much prefer to the bitter cold that others are experiencing. We survived but every winter I am left to find ways to keep the little ones from going stir crazy in our little tiny house when it is too cold or too dark to go outside. Not to mention the accompanying sick days that seem to come unexpectedly this time of year. On one such sick day stuck inside we decided to try mess-free finger painting. I must say I HIGHLY recommend this activity, the kids LOVED it and the clean up was a BREEZE (thank you pinterest for this wonderful find!)
We spend a lot of time waiting in the car while Daddy runs into work, it is too cold to go out and play on the bridge, so we made the best of it! I just love Maggie's faces!
We celebrated V-day with new books and sugar cookies! Ignore the fact that my kiddos look like orphans, I let them get themselves ready and since they had nowhere to be that day, I didn't intervene! Sadly I had to be at work, but you can bet the second I got home we celebrated the holiday with what else? SUGAR!
Russ kind of ROCKED Valentines this year! I got flowers and candy and came home to a clean house! I am a lucky, lucky girl!
This is my front door, aka: Aly's display zone. She LOVES to have a spot to display all of her creations and I I have to say every time I look at it, it makes me smile! I love her little creative self!
My girls have been working hard on their 'play house' aka: cardboard box. They have spent HOURS outside in their coats coloring and 'decorating' their little home. I love them! My little loves. What did Thatch and I do while the girls worked away, we snuggled. He is not a fan of inclement weather not too mention the poor kiddo has been sick more than his fair share this season!
Hope you found some fun ways to get through the winter if you are still experiencing a chill factor as for us... next week? SPRING BREAK and March 20th we start SOCCER! Yep winter is gone and I am so excited for SPRING! Today we took the kids to the park and flew kites, it is so nice to be out enjoying the outdoors for a minute until it gets HOTTER than HADES and we are forced back inside... unless of course we are in the pool. I seriously think that our school district should adjust the calendar and give us our summer break in the spring, it is really a shame to have to be at work when the weather is so gorgeous!
