{four is fabulous}

Alyse turned 4 on the 11th of September. We had a pink party. It was so fun. I love that she really 'got' the whole birthday thing this year. She is such a character. Now that she is four everything has changed, she is reminding me all the time that she is four now. She came up to me today and said, "Mom do I have a big neck?" I replied, "Not really sweetie, your neck is quite small." "No, Mom it is a 4 year old neck.  It is not small"  Why yes that is true. haha. I love her. She makes me laugh every day. She loves school, cutting, coloring, riding her new big girl bike (thanks Grandma and Grandpa) and getting her own way. She hates being told what to do, not getting what she wants, and time out. (she has spent a fair amount of time there as of late.) She is a great big sister (most of the time) and loves to play with Thatcher (as long as he plays what she wants to play). She has 2 best friends. One is Summer. Summer lives up the street and is in Aly's Sunbeam class. They are adorable together. The other friend is Sharla, Sharla is not real. In Aly's own words "She is just 'retends Mom!" Sharla accompanies us wherever we go. She comes to church, has sleepovers, rides in the middle seat of the van, etc. etc. etc. However I was notified today that Sharla has died. It was a sad event. Apparently, a bad guy killed her. She has already been replaced, by 'New Sharla'. "I went to the store mom and there was a brand new Sharla for us to have. Isn't that lucky Mom?" I guess we need to have a chat about life and death... maybe.
