{life}

Life has been a bit insane at the Sumens' household lately... let's see we are 3 weeks and counting for baby girl (who still is un-named) to arrive which means lots of washing of clothes and sorting through old baby items. I went to the doctor on Friday and found out I am only dilated to a 1 and was a bit disappointed. I am uncomfortable and am really ready to say 'hello' to our baby girl (if only I had a name for her, and the car seat was ready, and I had even started packing a bag, or any of the other millions of things that need to be done first--maybe she should wait another few weeks). Since this is most likely my last pregnancy I am trying to enjoy these final kicks, hiccups, rolls, and wiggles. It is such an amazing thing to carry a child inside of you and overall this pregnancy has been marvelous... it has flown by as I have busied myself with taking care of 2 young children, work, church callings, and all the other tasks of life I often forget I am pregnant until my body so 'nicely' reminds me with heartburn, leg cramps, charley horses, swollen feet, sleepless nights, crazy dreams, backaches, and now the inability to see my feet, tie my shoes, or even shave my legs effectively... the joys of pregnancy!
On a happier note we finished our taxes and already and have recieved our return which allowed us to purchase a new one of these:
Thatcher broke our old one back in November and it was just a purchase that we have had to put off with the holidays and doctors payments etc. etc. It is so nice being able to print things off from HOME! I never realized how much I needed my printer until it was GONE! It is the simple things that make me smile. The rest of the return will be going to the hospital to pay for the delivery of baby girl, but apparently my kiddos are okay with and are not in need of new possessions since the printer came with this:
Which has led to hours and hours of this:
and this:We also have had our share of SICKNESS these past few weeks Aly threw up for FOUR days and then wouldn't eat for another 2 because she was afraid her food would make her throw up again... Russ and I had to hold her down to get applesauce in her belly! Poor thing was crying because her tummy hurt so bad but refused to eat because of the fear of throwing up! I have spent many many hours holding her hair back, cuddling her, and washing more clothing and bedding than I even knew we had!
She has done lots of this:
We have read TONS of these:
I feel as if nothing of importance has been accomplished, but truthfully cuddling my sick child is incredibly important and all else can wait a day or two until we are back to our usual routine.
Now that she is feeling better the nice weather has of course turned cold so we are stuck inside due to rain and have spent the day playing with these:
counting and counting and counting these:
(Alyse is a bit in love with her piggy bank)
Filling this and waiting for feathered friends:
and we even baked some fo these:
Because when your kid won't eat you will try anything... she wouldn't eat them btw... or ice cream... or fruit snacks... or the 'Orange Peel' smoothie I bought her... not even chocolate! Seriously! I would have to be on deaths door to say no to chocolate... some days I wonder if there is any of me in her at all! (Russ however is not a fan of chocolate and it was yet another reminder of how much she is like her Daddy!)
Poor Thatch has been left to his own resources while I have been attending to the ill and he has spent some time in here:
as well as completely destroying the toy room, which I haven't even entered in days, I opened the door and attempted to organize it this afternoon but quickly gave up... I am not up to that challenge yet... maybe tomorrow.

Ohhh Mindy. My little heart stresses just to read about your last few weeks. You seem to be such a wonderful woman. Good luck. I hope everything goes well with the new bundle.
