We seem to spending more and more time outside these days with all the spring rain and the warmer weather! Aly's favorite spot, the patio. She enjoys hangin' out there during rain storms because the metal roof makes the sound of the rain so much louder, it is fun to stay dry and still watch it coming down all around us. It is also the best spot to watch and listen to the birds, they love to sit on the cinder block fence and in the trees next door in the park, it is also a nice spot to practice pedaling that trike that she got for Christmas from the grandparents . . . but the favorite patio activity . . . WATER PAINT! She will spend hours with a paint brush and a bucket of water 'painting' the cement! (She also enjoys her sidewalk chalk but not nearly as much). Thatcher is content sitting in the stroller watching the action, he loves watching his big sister.
Sidenote: notice the pasta sauce on Miss Aly's face, just saving some of our lunch for later. She DID NOT want it washed off, I caved, hmmm . . . maybe I need to put my foot down a little more she even got away with wearing her tutu to stake conference on Sunday, I was afraid of another striptease if I said "no" am I a pushover?

no! you are not a push over. I pick my battles too. Bentley used to wear a batman mask EVERYWHERE and would only answer if you called him batman. Some day you will look back and laugh. Chloe wants to wear her tu-tu everywhere too. Its just part of being a toddler!
I agree that you have to pick your battles. I enjoy seeing kids who know what they want. As parents I think we can sometimes be too hard on them to conform. My goal with Tayden is to try to keep him inline but not smash his creativity. A little pasta sauce on her face or a tutu at church won't hurt anyone.
Your kids are so cute. I bet you are just loving being home more. You deserve it!!
